Our Group Fitness Classes are free, Spring Semester 2023, to anyone with a UMD Student Membership. No registration is required. Just show up! Participants will be admitted on a first come, first served basis. Classes run from January 17-April 28. Participants of all ability levels are welcome! All classes meet in the Gold Room, SpHC 96.
The cost for a Spring 2023 Group Fitness Pass for all others is as follows.
All Other Recreation Center Members: $25/Semester, $50 Annual
All Non-UMD Student Members: $15/Day
Group Fitness Passes can be purchased at the RSOP Registration & Information Desk.
SPRING 2023 GROUP FITNESS CLASS SCHEDULE
Circuit
Mondays, Noon-12:50pm
Using a variety of equipment and methods, this athletic-based class will lead you through a series of cardio and strength circuits to deliver a top-notch and challenging workout.
Barre
Wednesdays, Noon-12:50pm
Try the latest workout craze. A blend of Pilates, light weights and mat work. This class will provide a graceful and new way to strengthen and lengthen your entire body.
Noon Yoga
Tuesdays & Thursdays, Noon-12:50pm
This class welcomes all levels of students, whether you are just beginning, or you have been practicing for a while! A mix of various styles of yoga including Hatha, Vinyasa and restorative will be intermixed throughout this class. The instructor will incorporate poses including, but not limited to, dogs, standing hangs, warriors, sun salutations, and pigeons. Some restorative floor work may also be added in.
Spin
Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:15-7:15am and Wednesdays, 11:00am-12:00pm
Pedal your way to better fitness in this non-impact cycling class! Beginners and avid bicyclists are encouraged to join, as instructors will ensure you have a safe and comfortable fit prior to the start of class. Upbeat music, beats and rhythms offer a great way to get your cardio workout in!
Mindful Yoga
Mondays, 4:30-5:30pm
This class includes opportunities to engage with grounding techniques, breath awareness, various postures in seated, standing, and supine positions with a closing meditation. Throughout the class, participants will be invited to practice unifying breath with movement to enhance their mind-body connection, notice somatic sensations, and move at their own pace.
